GRASS VS SEED

How to make an informed decision?

Both cultivated turf and high-quality seeding are viable options for a beautiful lawn. While choosing cultivated turf is more expensive, it's undoubtedly a much faster solution compared to seeding, which requires a long period of time before you can see a mature lawn.

CULTIVATED GRASS

The majority of our customers choose cultivated turf for its ease of installation and the immediate results of a beautiful lawn. Cultivated turf rolls have the advantage of being made from mature, vigorous grass plants that will withstand heavy traffic.

Other benefits include:

Greater weed resistance thanks to a pre-existing thick, lush bed of grass

Uniform density

Issues related to soil erosion are greatly reduced

A nicely landscaped yard will add 10 to 15% to the value of your home

VS

SEED

When budget is a factor or if time is not an issue, grass seed offers another option to consider. Seeding a new lawn requires no special skills or equipment and large areas can be covered relatively quickly.

It will take about a minimum of 2 years of attention to nurture a seeded lawn to maturity.

We have dealt with many sod producers over the years, but after we started doing business with Gazonniere Alexander there was no need to look any further. Their attention to producing top quality turf grass as well as providing exceptional service has made them an industry leader. Their sod is always freshly cut and the whole team is friendly and very professional. It is a pleasure doing business with them.
